Happy parents-to-be!

Our Saturday afternoon self-portrait! This was just yesterday. It was a great day outside and we enjoyed by Ted taking a bike ride and Walden and I taking a walk. We were out for an hour and a half...i think we did 5 miles. My legs are sore today - but i have found that the more exercise i do, the better I feel. It makes the moods swings lessen and just makes me feel better all around! It was a gorgeous morning.

Last weekend Ted and I picked out our first little baby outfit at Babies R Us. That place can be a bit over whelming...so we opted for looking at clothes, buggies and furniture. There is so much to learn...sometimes i just don't even know where to start. i am reading a lot though. I went to the library yesterday and checked out a bunch of books on pregnancy. I must say, the one i am liking so far is Pregnancy for Dummies. It is straight and to the point and doesn't try to scare you half to death about labor and everything that happens afterwards. Lord know, i have enough to think about. So many of the books that are out try to scare the b-jesus out of you...yeah, like that's what a pregnant woman wants to know....eewwwww. stop it.

Here's a pic of the baby outfit.

The little sleeves fold over to mittens to protect his nails from scratching his face. it's a sleepbag so it's just one piece. It comes with a hat and little booties. it's going to be winter...either that little one isn't going out in the cold, or he will be bundled up beyond belief!! like a little eskimo!

It was a lot of fun to pick out an outfit. it's really hard to keep from buying more things. I can't wait to find out the sex...only three more months or so....i'm counting the days!!

With everything going on in our lives right now, it's so hard to stay focused at work! i just want to have fun! And in a month or so there will be so much to do at the new house....we'll have our hands busy from then...ON! house, baby....i just got here from Colorado! What an interesting time it's been !

Gotta love it!! I'm so happy - i've never been so happy in all my life!!!

I'm going to try to keep on top of these. there are times when i don't feel like much is going on with the baby, so i'm not sure how frequent these will be in the beginning...

Some of you know my belly...and in the center pic you can tell that it isn't as flat as it normally is. :-) i bought my first pair of gauchos yesterday because i am already growing out of most of my jeans. good times!! bring it on!

Since i have been so behind with posting, i thought i would try to catch you all up on things in one spurt! I actually have some time today....and i am feeling great!
Yes, I am feeling wonderful with being pregnant. i have food cravings and aversions...an occasional bout of heartburn...some gas....slight cramping...but all in all - i love the feeling and I hope i can keep feeling this wonderful so I can enjoy this pregnancy!
Last Sunday we went to Ted's brother's house to celebrate Easter with his family as well as celebrate his mom's birthday. I got to give Easter baskets to the girls, Paige and Annie, our nieces, which was one of the highlights of my day. They are so full of energy and so much fun to watch! I got them these bunny ears and they looked so adorable in them!!

It will be nice that our baby will be close in age to the girls! And who knows, maybe they will have more!

One baby that will be close in age is Lydia's baby, Kurt. Lydia is Ted's adopted sister. Lydia is 21, i think. She just had a baby in March. It was nice to hold a baby...to be around a little tiny one...even though when i saw him, I had no idea i was beginning to grow one inside of me!!

This picture makes him look big....well, not that big i guess, but he is a little munchkin. A very quiet baby. i sure hope we have a boy....i've just always wanted one and well, can't say that it would disappoint Ted at all.

Here's a picture of Jackie, Ted's mom. When we told her the good news we were in Lowe's pretending we were taking her to pick out mulch for her garden. She fell over onto the bags of much in excitement. Needless to say, she is SO THRILLED!!!!!

I think my Aunt Wendy wins the award for best reaction to the pregnancy news. She cried and cried....i had to tell her it's going to be great, don't cry! one of my reaction was not tearing up and whaling about it...I was shaking too much and in complete shock. You never know how you are going to respond until it happens to you.

We got the house! The house is ours!

A lot has been happening!!! This has been the most exciting 8 months of my life! We are officially buying the house, we're just working on getting some minor details ironed out, but besides the little stuff, we can comfortably (and nervously) scream with cheer! Now, with all this house....there's a TON of planning to do!!! First things first - the kitchen. Ted will be able to remodel the kitchen while we are still living in the apartment, which makes for a less stressful living situation. We are going to be taking the house one step at a time. After all, we have plenty of time! I think one thing i may try working on is the landscaping. We have plans to pretty much rip it out and start over but for now, i think things should just be cut back to expose the house a bit. The windows really do let a lot of light in; even though they look like pigeon holes. Once we can get back over there, i will have to take a picture of the view. We sit on top of a mountain (hill, to those of you in CO) and the view is great! From the bedroom windows upstairs you just see sky and land.

We are very excited to start our life in this house; to start our family; to raise our family; and to grow old together. We couldn't be happier!

And to make matters even GREATER ---- there's even more wonderful news to scream with joy about ----

I've never shaked so much in my life then when those those wonderful little lines appeared! We're going to be parents. I'm going to be a mommy!!!!
We are due to have our baby in December...and of all days, on Christmas Day. I truly believe this baby will come before the holiday because he knows how much i want to lay around enjoying him on Christmas day. I do not want to be stuck in a darn hospital on that day or night. So, we are going to be keeping up with our exercise regimen and hopefully he will decide to show himself earlier!!

Thank you for all of your kind and happy reactions - i love all of the support and excitement - and we thank you for it all!!!

We're getting closer to getting this house, so i think it is safe to post a pic. Now, keep in mind, you have to remember this is a fixer-upper. A house that we will make our own. It has potential...but you have to have an imagination. This is the place we will plant ourselves to raise a family...

landscaping needs work...we know. This place needs all kinds of lovin. We should know sooner rather than later if it's ours. It's huge - over 22oo sq. ft., 4 BDRM/2.5 BA, 1.06 acres (though not useable land), quiet and in a great growing neighborhood.

It's SO EXCITING to almost be a homeowner!!!

Things are brewing...

So, Ted and I have found a house, one we love so much to actually try to buy. I don't want to jinx us so i'm not saying much. Just keep your fingers crossed for us so i can post more about it later.

It has been 6 months since I was in Denver and I'm looking forward to my trip out there in May. I am so excited to see all of my friends, I can hardly believe that I am actually going. It will be so nice to hear the sounds of the city, to see the mountains, and to chat amongst my buds - even if it is for a blink of an eye. Quick in and quick out. Sorry I couldn't make more of a trip out of it, but considering that i have no paid days off and the fact that we are saving for a house, i think it is very understanding and kind of Ted to come up with the idea of having a girl weekend in Denver. Talk about wonderful!

Mr. Wally Waldorfen...aka Walden turned one last week. My little boy is growing up...i'm so proud. He has gone from the size of my palm to about 20 pounds. He's still a little squirt, but man he sure grew fast. Walden learned to behave from Ted. I truly believe that if it weren't for his persistence, that he would still be getting away with an occasional poop on the floor from his push-over mommy. He is still the cutest little Boston Terrier there ever was!

shooting is fun. it's like going to the range to club away at golf-balls. ya'll might think i'm going coo coo but I've come as far to say i have a favorite.
